Meryl had a wonderfully designed website yet was using the default Kubrick blog theme and it wasn’t even fully functional. So there was a disconnect in the image being projected we needed to correct. Also, because WordPress hadn’t been properly installed, managing it was difficult and time-consuming at the best of times. Our goal: mirror the professional, polished look of the rest of Meryl’s site AND make sure everything worked so that the blog would be well used.

Sherri had no web presence for her business and had intended to hire a designer to create a traditional website. After hearing about the flexibility that using WordPress would afford her, Sherri decided to change her plans. Using graphics from her designer, I created a customized site design, set up all her initial pages, installed key plugins, and trained Sherri in how to make blog entries as well as edit the rest of the site on her own.

Margot wanted a blog to complement her existing website. I customized a WordPress template so that she would have a blog that reflected a specific look and feel. I also installed key plugins to give her the functionality she desired.

Arris was launching her business and wanted a blog to complement her traditional website. I installed WordPress for her and customized a WordPress template then I taught her about key features of her blog and how to make the blogging process easy. I also set her up with a custom “newsletter” template so she could promote her blog via email.

Nicolette had been using a couple of private blogs to share inspiration with friends and wanted to move to a public blog where anyone could find her. She was redesigning her entire website and ultimately decided to host her blog as a separate entity.

Adrian had been communicating with her clients via an enewsletter and her traditional website. She wanted more control and flexibility and she also wanted a way to communicate with people who were not yet clients, so she decided that a blog was the way to go. Though her blog is now active, her plans are to accomplish an entire site redesign by converting her entire site to a blog-based site.

Bruce had an established following for his writing on life, culture, politics, and radical responsibility. What he also had was a traditional website that was hard for him to maintain by himself and didn’t allow him as much flexibility as he wanted. I worked with him to replace his entire site–with some timely changes, of course–to a WordPress-based blog so that he can add and subtract pages without technical assistance and he can continue to share his wisdom using any computer with internet access simply by logging into his blog.
