[...] Back in August 2005, I wrote an open letter to America where I spoke about the move away from greatness that we’ve made in our country. We can shift the course we’ve been on these last many years. With inspiration and true leadership, we can reclaim our souls and come back to the heart of what it means to be American. “Leadership is not a solo act, it’s a team effort.” [...]

Letting go of a need to be perfect sure can be freeing. I know that learning that--and continuing to relearn it--has helped me be easier with myself and actually get better results than when I expected perfection.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Patrick.

watched Conversations with God recently... i appreciate the point that Neale Donald Walsch makes about having freedom to admit that he's not perfect so he can move on from where he is.

Oh my, is your blog not timely! And yes, I totally agree that what is going on with our economy is a brilliant metaphor for how I am living my life. Thanks for being another wake-up call for me. My husband and I have a lot of work to do to get ourselves back on track. The beauty of all this is ... we can chose to break old habits, and move forward out of gratitude for what is the most valuable thing in our life - our relationship and love for each other!
